Machakos County Development Partners & Stakeholders Conference
Join us for this 24 hours Event
BACKGROUND
Over the past decade, Machakos County has made notable strides in economic and social development. However, persistent challenges such as poverty, food insecurity, water scarcity, limited healthcare access, and the impacts of climate change continue to hinder progress. Addressing these issues requires a collective effort, and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), non-profits, and the private sector have emerged as key players in driving community-led solutions and complementing government interventions. These actors have been instrumental in bridging gaps and fostering development across critical sectors. Lack of coordination among organizations and private sector entities can lead to competition for resources, and limited knowledge sharing. These barriers can slow down the pace of sustainable development in the region.
Recognizing the urgent need for collaboration, robust partnerships, knowledge exchange, and capacity building, the Machakos County Government is collaborating with Sustainable Africa Innovators (SUS-AFRIC) www.sus-afric.org to convene a multi-stakeholder roundtable. This one-day event, themed "Advancing the SDGs: Partnerships for Impact and Development in Machakos County: “will bring together key actors from various sectors working in Machakos County.
The conference aims to foster partnerships for sustainable development, share best practices, and align efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will also strengthen the role of CSOs and non-profits in addressing development challenges through transparent and accountable collaboration with the county government. The conference will feature, keynote speeches and panel discussions by industry experts and successful entrepreneurs. Interactive workshops and networking sessions will provide practical pathways to support growth and collaboration. Participants will have the opportunity to learn, network, and showcase their work, ultimately helping stakeholders in Machakos County overcome common challenges and unlock new opportunities for sustainable socio-economic development. This conference represents a critical step toward building a more coordinated, impactful, and resilient development ecosystem in Machakos County.
